Adhesive BondingIn situations where welding or mechanical joining of parts is not required, industrial adhesive can be automatically applied, positioned, and heat-cured, all as part of the total assembly system. Adhesive bonding is used to fasten two surfaces together and typically produces a smooth bond. This joining technique uses glues, epoxies, or various plastic agents to bond by curing the bonding agent with heat and pressure. Adhesive bonding cured with heat creates adhesion with a strength approaching that of the bonded materials themselves. As a result, gluing has replaced other joining methods in many applications, especially where the bond is not exposed to prolonged heat or weathering. |
