Crimping, clinching and riveting are alternative methods of attaching two pieces of metal, typically used when welding and adhesive bonding are not suitable for the assembly of the final product.

The attachment of one piece of steel to another by folding one edge with the other to create a non-welded seam.

The attachment of one piece of steel to another by punching or inserting one portion of metal through the other piece of metal.

A process in which two pieces of metal are joined by inserting a steel pin through lined-up holes in the two metals with the ends of the pin compressed to cause a tight joining of the pieces.
